Loving Lately List: Snow Day Edition

Y’all, it has been snowing in Nashville and as I write this I’m curled up on my couch buried under a pile of blankets. Everyone’s out there posting their cute pictures of their families outside, I’m still getting over the stomach flu so there’s no way we’re going outside today.

Anyway, even though I’m not the happiest of campers, here’s my Loving Lately List for this Snow Day:

Force of Nature

Force of Nature

I’m semi-obsessed with this stuff. Click here to read more about Force of Nature, but basically you put little pods of harsh-chemical-free solution into water, press a button, magic science happens, and then you can use this cleaner to sanitize your kitchen, kid’s toys, windows, shower, everything! To learn more about the science behind it, subscribe to the newsletter. It took me a few emails before I was convinced, but I am so happy we bought it.

It works so well and it’s been really nice not to have to worry about Hewson ingesting something dangerous like that time he tried to eat a Lysol wipe… (Don’t worry, I stopped him, but Poison Control was called.)

Also, if you’re interested, here’s a Simple Cleaning Schedule that has been super helpful for us!

The Kite Runner

I’ve heard people rave about this one, so it has been on my “must read” list forever. I loved Khaled Hosseini’s And the Mountains Echoed! I’m finally reading it and, while I haven’t finished it yet, it’s so good. Click here to get in paperback. Click here to get it on Kindle. WaterColor Pens

I asked for these watercolor pens for Christmas to use on my bullet journal and I love them! Drawing in my bullet journal is one way that I relax at the end of the day and these are just fabulous.

Organic Food from Costco

Have you guys noticed that Costco has really bumped up its organic food game lately? I love buying healthier things for my family, but I also don’t want to eat a larger portion of our paycheck going to food, so this is a welcome compromise.

All I can say is yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

The Mindy Project on Hulu

the mindy project

How on earth am I just now watching this show? I don’t know, but I love it! Mindy is an OB/GYN and while she’s a hot mess, she’s also learning to make it in the world as a strong female. And my favorite part is that the “bad guys” in the show are two male midwives–SO stinking funny!

(Midwives are awesome, y’all! There’s no hate coming from me! I’m going to use them whenever we have our next kid and planned to use them for our first child’s birth! If you doubt my love, check out Hewson’s birth story. #pegforever)

What are you loving these days? I’d love to know! What keeps you going on a cold winter day? How are you keeping your kids occupied?
